Kyrgyz is a natural language which originates in Kyrgyzstan, a country in Central Asia.


It is an Kipchak Turkic language (639-5: trk). Its closest living neighbors are Kazakh , Altay , and Karakalpak . It has further relations to other Turkic languages, most notably Turkish and Uzbek .

It is mainly written in the Arabic and Cyrillic scripts, with no plans of latinization in the future. It is used in both Kyrgyzstan (Cyrillic), as well as Kyrgyz regions of Xinjiang, China (Arabic).
