Georgian is a natural language which has its origins in the Kingdom of Georgia, now known as Georgia (ISO 3166: GE). It is also an official language of Georgia.
It is a Kartvelian Language (639-5: ccs) in the Caucusus region. Its closest living neighbors are Laz and Mingrelian . It is one of the 4 living Kartvelian languages, and one of the many spoken in Georgia.
It is the most widely spoken Kartvelian language. It is notable for its unique script, which is only used amongst other languages in Georgia
