Karakalpakstan is a natural language which originates in Uzbekistan, specifically in the western Republic of Karakalpakstan. It's notable for being closer related to Kazakh than to nearby Uzbek
It is a Kipchak Turkic language (639-5: trk). Its closest living neighbors are Kazakh , Altay , and Kyrgyz . It has further relations to other Turkic languages, most notably Turkish .
It's been written with a Cyrillic script for the past 80 years, though with the plan for Uzbek latinization scheduled for 2023, Karakalpak is expected to follow suit.
